That you already have the natural ability to become a low single figure golfer or better.
But unless you make a few simple changes to your mental approach you’ll never actually get there.
How many more rounds are you going to play knowing you could have done better if your head didn’t get in the way of your body?
Don’t let this be the cause of another season going by without improvement.
Are you aware of how many shots you throw away during every round because of:
- Frustration over bad shots
- Lack of confidence and fear of failure
- Nerves in the big moments
- Loss of focus and concentration
- Not having a precise target
- Too many swing thoughts and trying to control your swing
- Self sabotage when you’re about to beat your best score
I’ll tell you how many – TOO MANY!!!
If you want to end this wasting of shots and change into a smarter, better, more confident golfer, then keep reading…
About ten years ago, I was in the same position as you.
I knew I was a good player with the potential to regularly shoot in the 70s.
My practice sessions told me that and I knew I had solid fundamentals.
But when I got on the course or played in a competition, I couldn’t get anywhere near to the scores I knew I was capable of. And like you, I immediately put this down to poor technique…
So after trying countless swing lessons, training aids and golf magazine tips without any progress, I really only had one more place to look – MY MENTAL GAME
And so I embarked on a study and 12 month experiment…
That year took me DEEP into Sports Psychology and Mental Game Coaching.
I interviewed hundreds of players of all levels about their games and found that (on average) most golfers were losing at least 25% of their strokes due to their mental approach to each shot and how they managed and controlled their emotions during a round.
Their under-performance had VERY LITTLE to do with technique!
Considering that the average handicap of 16 has not fallen in the past 30 years, despite MASSIVE advancement in equipment and teaching technology, this may not be surprising to you.
What I found, was that the better the player, the better the mental game.
But this is not something better players are born with… most Tour pros and scratch players are taught these mental game techniques or learn them from experience, but the average player has no clue about them.
I found out what they are.
Once I understood fully how the body and mind work together for good golf, something amazing happened.
Upon finding out how to:
- Concentrate on process instead of outcome
- Turn negative emotions and nerves into a positive
- Visualize and focus on my target
- Develop a feel for shot shapes and distances
- Swing with my subconscious mind
- Use confidence triggers and anchor emotions
- Stay in the present and remain calm
- Accept my bad shots and move on quickly
- Find the positive and build confidence no matter how I played
I dropped 12 shots off my handicap in one golf season (yes, this is true).
I stopped chasing the perfect swing and blaming poor technique for my results and I finally learned what is most important in getting to my best (and I’m still getting better).
The beauty of this way to improve is that it doesn’t require any physical skill – just the application of easy to learn mental skills!
Since making this dramatic discovery over ten years ago, I’ve refined these techniques into an easy to follow “system” and have taught it to over 10.000 golfers world wide. This system is the “Golf State of Mind Training System”.
And now you can share in my discovery (you don’t need hundreds of hours of research and thousands of golf balls to do so).
But the real questions is, will it work for you?
Here’s what European Tour Pro, Adam Gee said after he took the program:
“David’s Golf State of Mind Training System makes game improvement simple and effective. It’s amazing how a change in perspective towards what’s really important can make such a huge difference. All golfers, whether beginner or a Tour Pro like myself would benefit from his system.”
I know you have access to a lot of mental game resources. But what I have created is an actionable system that you can work on during every practice session and round. There are 7 main areas (or habits) that scratch or low single figure golfers way exceed average players and I’ve put these into 7 modules.
Module 1: The Perfect Swing is The One You Trust
In module 1 I’m going to show you why the Golf Industry Is lying to you and everything you’ve learned about how to improve your golf game by swing lessons and buying new equipment is, for the most part, a waste of time. Searching for the perfect golf swing is like searching for the Holy Grail. The perfect golf swing is the one you trust and I’ll show you how to do this.
Module 2: Playing With Your Senses (no technical thoughts)
In module 2, we’re going to make golf a very simple game. Here you’re going to find the single most important lesson to get you on the path to your best golf. We’ll shift your focus from what your body is doing, to what you want the ball to do. It’s called SENSORY GOLF and involves target orientation, visualization and feel. I’m going to teach you powerful techniques to get your analytical and critical side of your brain out the way and re-learn golf as art. Swinging without any technical thoughts or conscious control will become easy and you’ll become connected with the target and the shot you want to hit.
Module 3: The Best Pre-Shot Routine
In module 3, you’re going to learn the importance of the PRE-SHOT ROUTINE and a good COURSE STRATEGY, which will soon become a habit and set you up for success ahead of every shot. You’ll discover how to feel as confident as possible by knowing that you’ve done everything you can to ensure a good execution. You’ll learn that a good round of golf is a collection of individual shots hit as best you can, involving a meticulous sequence of steps. This includes:
- Learning the importance of shot analysis and course strategy
- Understanding everything that could affect your shot selection
- Learning how to pick a conservative-aggressive target
- Visualizing the shot
- Feeling the shot without technical awareness
- The think-box/play-box concept
- How to align perfectly every time
- Confidence triggers
- The best swing thought
- The post-shot routine to control reactions
Module 4: How To Control Your Emotions
In module 4, you’ll discover how to develop the MENTAL TOUGHNESS of the Tour pros. Do you think the best players in the world get as affected as you do by bad shots and 3 putting a green? No, they don’t. That’s not because they are stronger mentally that you are, it’s because they know techniques to re-frame their minds depending on the situation. You’ll learn how to:
- Develop confidence in your game no matter how you play
- Get your ego out of the way
- Play without thinking about scores
- Move on quickly from bad shots and holes and not have the round fall apart
- Learn powerful techniques to focus until the final putt on the 18th
- Stay in the present
Module 5: How Good Are Your Fundamentals?
In module 5, we’re going to look at your SET-UP AND FUNDAMENTALS. I’m going to give you a test and we’ll see how good they are. To me these are the most important part of the physical game and it’s essential that you work on them. As much as I believe golf is played with your mind, without solid fundamentals, you’ll never become the golfer you’re capable of becoming.
Module 6: The Perfect Pre-round Warm Up
In module 6, I’ll teach you the perfect PRE-ROUND WARM-UP. This isn’t just about stretching and loosening up your golf muscles. It’s about getting your body and mind synchronized and preparing your mind for playing your best. You’ll learn how to set proper expectations and visualize success.
Module 7: Post-round Analysis
In module 7, I’ll show you the best way to review your rounds with a POST-ROUND ANALYSIS so that you know exactly what to work on during your practice. You’ll get 2 free months of eGolf Plan which is a great tool to measure your strengths and weaknesses after every round.
