Hi – I’m David MacKenzie and I’m a scratch golfer.
Not so long ago, I was a hacker. I hate to use that word, but that’s how my game felt. But I didn’t want to STAY a hacker – so I bought every gimmick and gizmo there was thinking that if I just had the right widget I’d play better golf. But that didn’t work.
So I moved on to buying books and systems and spent more and more time on the driving range. And though I did make slow (dreadfully slow) and gradual improvement, I just KNEW that I had a better and more consistent game in me. There were highs and lows and a lot of frustration. I’d play those rounds I knew I was capable of and then follow it up with a 100. There were times when I wanted to give up, but thankfully I didn’t.
And then it happened… After spending years of my life and thousands of dollars searching, I finally cracked the code. And almost overnight my handicap dropped by leaps and bounds. Ten years ago I set out on a quest to find out what the top players in the world do (almost all without swinging a club), that enable them to play consistently to scratch or better and I was amazed at what I discovered. Through religious practice of these techniques, I was able to dramatically drop my handicap, and for the last 15 years I’ve dedicated myself to teaching others these easily learnable skills my training system.
And now I want to invite you to peak behind the black curtain so that you can join me in the ranks of the scratch golfer.
What are the answers?
Habit 1 Do you think you have good fundamentals? I have a test to make sure. Although my approach is definitely not technical in any way, you can’t have a good golf game without mastering the 5 fundamentals. Some of you will be able to skip this section, and pass the test easily, but others will have to do a little work to get there. But it doesn’t take long! I’ll show you how…
Habit 2 You’ll learn how to play with your senses. Learn powerful visualization and feel techniques to take swing mechanics out your game. If you read nothing else in this book, read this section and you’ll never have to take another lesson. Good golf has nothing to do with swing mechanics or “magic moves”. It requires a delve into golf at the very deepest level but the result is extraordinary golf.
Habit 3 Learn the importance of the KILLER pre-shot routine, which will become a habit and set you up for success ahead of every shot. You may have a “routine” before every shot right now, but I can guarantee you it’s nothing like this one. You’ll discover how to feel as confident as possible, knowing that you’ve done everything you can to ensure a good execution. Imagine Tiger Woods coming out from behind a tree before each shot and telling you how to play it. These are the 7 simple steps for success, but you need all 7!
Habit 4 is learning how to control your emotions, to keep your confidence high and your mind firmly in the present. You’ll find out what to do when you start to feel nerves or the pressure of getting close to your best score.
Habit 5 is learning the perfect pre-round warm-up to get you in the optimal state of mind for playing a great round. You’ll learn techniques to focus, relax and synchronize your body and mind to ensure your sharp and ready to go.
Habit 6 You’ll learn how to analyze your rounds, so you can practice most effectively.
Habit 7 is learning how to practice top the max with the GSOM practice drills. You’ll learn how to make every practice minute count, so no precious minutes are wasted and with every session you get closer to scratch.
